Malacca – City Guide

[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]

I’ve been in love with this city since the first second. It’s hard to describe but there must be something special about it that makes me return over and over again. Could it be the colonial and heritage vibe?  The joyful crowd? The vibrant colours? The mesmerizing scents? Or is it simply this kind of positive energy that makes me feel fabulous whenever I’m here?!

Yes, it’s Malacca! This place, once ruled by Portuguese, Dutch and British colonial forces is today a Malaysian UNESCO world heritage town. There is also a strong Muslim, Hindu and Nyonya Peranakan influences in this city. Are you ready to be seduced by the richness of this city?

HOTEL MAJESTIC: My favourite hotel in town for many reasons: great location, friendly services, spacious and nicely designed suites overlooking the river. Being part of the renovated historic mansion which dates back to the 1920s, Majestic’s architecture probably reflects the colourful history of Malacca.

5. Best way to go:

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/1″][vc_single_image image=”23059″ border_color=”grey” img_link_target=”_self” img_size=”700×531″][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]While many prefer to cross the border by bus or car, I find that the fastest way to cross the Singaporean-Malaysian border is to take the shuttle. Services from Woodlands Station starts at 6.30 in the morning and if you are lucky like myself, you will reach JB Sentral in ca. 10 minutes. It is recommended to book the tickets in advance here.}

From JB, rent a car to drive to Malacca as it is much cheeper than renting from Singapore. The road is good and you will be driving approximately 2.5 – 3 hours.
