Sunday inspiration

Design inspiration for today: wooden spoons that I could snatch from Sadec District . Don’t know yet if I will ever use them, they’re too cute! Do you also share the love for ceramics and small little things? Come down to Sadec District in Saigon to discover, or simply to get inspired!

NOOK – Moonlight dinner in a rice field & more.

Nook Smoothie Bowl

Moonlight dinner in a rice field. Does this speak to you? If yes, then you should consider NOOK, because this restaurant has everything to become your favourite spot for comfort food with an amazing view in Bali Seminyak. The cosy place is surrounded by the beautiful rice fields near Umalas. Lush green, quiet, peaceful and serene is how you can describe the setting.
It happens that we love to come here not for dinner, but at any time of the day and at any occasion whenever we are in Seminyak. Be it for brunch, for a drink or dinner, the team of NOOK always treated us well with many of their home-made dishes. The menu combines typical Asian and Western delights. I highly recommend eggs benedict or Avocado sandwich for breakfast, beef rendang for lunch and for dinner, you have to try their BBQ dishes! For vegetarians: NOOK just recently introduced a few delicacies with fried tofu and grilled veggie. (Yum!)

Sadect district

It’s a long week-end here in Singapore where Diwali is celebrated. I decided to take time for some pottery making and just wish I could head over to Sadect District in Saigon to get inspired by their beautiful ceramic collection. If I would still be living in Saigon and were looking to decorate my home, Sadect District would be my first place to go.

La Mangosteen on holiday

This time I’d like to send you greetings from France where I’m having a little break from South East Asia. This beautiful picture was taken in Arles, one of my favourite city in the picturesque region of Provence. Just get on travel with me and follow on Facebook or Instagram for updates!

Kokois – Cafe. Bistro. Concept Store.

Chaos. People. Myriad of motorbikes. Things you might associated with Ho Chi Minh City, on the first sight. All this is tiring and restless, you think? But gems are there; tucked in the backyard of old colonial houses, hidden between small lush green alleyway, or often on rooftops. Have you read my article about the top 10 places in Ho Chi Minh City? Check it out and you’ll see!

I don’t live in this buzzling city anymore, I sometimes miss it and was therefore so happy that a friend sent over some pics from Kokois Cafe and Concept Store. Located in Thao Dien district 2 and in a former warehouse, this place is spacious, minimally decorated and it has a lot of lights! {That’s my cup of tea!} KoKois also houses a large and varied collection of local and international designers with an emphasize on handmade and fair-trade design.

I already can’t wait until my next visit to Ho Chi Minh City to explore this gem! You wanna join?
